Ingredients
1 1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 cup buttermilk
2 eggs
1 Tablespoon red food coloring
1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
2 1/2 cups flour
1 3/4 cup sugar
1 teaspoon baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
1 1/2 Tablespoons cocoa powder
Optional Glaze:
Chocolate Glaze-
1/3 cup cocoa powder
1 1/2 cup confectioner’s sugar
3 Tablespoons melted butter
2/4 Tablespoons milk
Mix all ingredients together to reach desired consistency. Add more milk or sugar as needed. Drizzle over cooled cake
Vanilla Glaze-
1 2/3 cup confectioner’s sugar
3 Tablespoons melted butter
2/4 Tablespoons milk
Mix all ingredients together to reach desired consistency. Add more milk or sugar as needed. Drizzle over cooled cake.
Recipe Instructions
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large bowl, sift together the flour, baking soda, salt, and cocoa powder. Set aside. In a large bowl, mix together the oil and sugar. Add in the eggs, mix well. Add in the vinegar and food coloring. Mix well. Gradually add in the dry ingredients and mix until incorporated. Pour batter into USA PAN® fluted tube pan. Bake for 50 min, until toothpick inserted in center is comes out clean. Allow cake to cool completely.
